Program Overview
About The Role

Peraton is seeking a proven executive for the role of Director of Business Development to lead growth across the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role is focused on developing and executing growth strategies, conducting customer engagement activities, and leading pursuits within the VA.

 

 The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of success in identifying and winning new business and in leading teams in capturing targeted programs in the VA market. It is important for the candidate to have experience building a robust, targeted pipeline of opportunities that will drive growth across the VA. Critical skill sets include strong strategic planning abilities and an unrelenting focus on winning business, with a track record of large wins ($200M+) at VA.  It is also important that the candidate has current and effective relationships with VA stakeholders and influencers. 

 

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and leverage resources to create, identify, develop, and qualify opportunities.
  • Achieve new business growth goals, secure contract recompetes, and support organic program growth.
  • Develop and maintain an active pipeline of opportunities in alignment and consistent with corporate strategy and goals.
  • Primary interface with customer community, building customer relationships through effective communications, with both internal and external customers.
  • Develop and execute strategies to shape requirements and acquisition strategies resulting in high Pwin opportunities.
  • Implement the Peraton Business Acquisition Process effectively while also communicating on critical opportunities and plans for achieving new business growth goals.
  • Assist in guiding potential customers by demonstrating technology solutions, architectures, capabilities, and potential acquisition paths for early-stage opportunities, working with internal technical and program management teams to develop responses to Requests for Information (RFIs), market surveys, white papers, presentations, briefings, and major event demonstrations.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience or 12 years of experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the VA market and the changing environments of the developments inside the domain
  • Considerable customer engagement experience with VA executives in establishing relationships, executing call plans, identifying objectives, and maintaining strong customer satisfaction.
  • Experience leading large $200M+ business pursuits through identification to contract award.
  • A proven track record of winning contracts with VA customers.
  • Proven experience in building relationships with strategic teaming partners (prime and sub)
  • Demonstrated understanding of customer needs to align Peraton’s capabilities and core values Proven ability to structure key partnerships and alliances and to establish and grow new relationships (critical success factors)
  • Must demonstrate high energy, integrity, strong business acumen, professionalism, and commitment.
  • Highly effective communicator to all levels within the company and with customers, to include senior executives.
  • Based in Washington, DC area with customer relationships within VA.
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance

 Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience selling Enterprise IT Solutions and Services with ability to communicate benefits and differentiation.
SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
