Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a AI/ML Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located in Arlington, VA. 

 

This position will allow for remote work throughout the US; however, it is preferred that the selected individual lives within driving distance of Arlington VA so that they are able to come into the office if needed. 

 

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities to leverage and integrate OpenAI/ML technologies and capabilities into USPS OIG processes, products, or services
  • Design, develop, evaluate, test, maintain, and monitor Azure AI/ML software programs and applications
  • Deliver architectural design sessions, pilots/POCs leveraging Azure AI Services and Azure OpenAI Services
  • Support internal customers with Speech, Computer Vision, Text, Search, Azure Open AI so they can build their own AI products in the future
  • Adhere to USPS OIG policies by identifying and mitigating safety and security considerations (bias, data privacy, etc.) when delivering or integrating technology or products that use or apply
  • Architect and develop solutions from non-technical business requirements
  • Develops and submits change requests and track work to completion
  • Produce process documentation in order to outline challenges, missteps and successes and refine processes going forward
  • Using modern approaches for product and services delivery in an iterative and Agile manner
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 5 years experience or Master's degree with 3 years experience or HS Diploma/equivalent and 9 years experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship or Green Card Holder (Must resided with the U.S. for the past 5 years with no more than 6 months outside travel of the U.S during this time frame)
  • Pass both a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check
  • 5+ years of experience with data and analysis through use of predictive tools and automation
  • 5+ years of experience in designing and developing AI software and system integration experience
  • Experience with Cognitive Services, Search and Azure Open AI models
  • Experience designing and implementing solutions in Azure
  • Attention to detail and creating clarity when dealing with ambiguity
  • Ability to work cross functionally in a constantly evolving and rapidly changing work environment
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong knowledge of AI algorithms, techniques, and technologies
  • Proficiency in coding languages such as Python, C++, Java, etc.
  • Technical understanding of the current AI offerings within Azure and how to integrate those.
  • services with existing or in-development solutions 
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with technical and non-technical team members

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an Agile environment working with tools such as MS DevOps
  • Self-starter who can quickly acclimate to a dynamic environment
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize competing requirements
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Experience working in a government context or with government customers

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
