Program Overview
About The Role

Peraton is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Network Engineer to join our Support Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing network engineering for a primarily Cisco-based network, while supporting mission-critical network infrastructure across enterprise environments.

 

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, and VPN solutions using Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Monitor, acknowledge, report, and address alerts provided through the Network Management System (SolarWinds Orion) in the pursuit of maintaining 99.9% uptime of the network
  • Replace all network equipment as needed
  • Follow procedures established and provided for systems administration tasks, as well as making suggestions for improvement
  • Apply network security best practices, including access control lists (ACLs), firewalls, and intrusion prevention systems.
  • Provide Tier II/III network support, diagnose complex issues, and coordinate vendor escalation as needed.
  • Stay current on Cisco technologies, tools, and certifications to ensure alignment with industry and organizational standards.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree of Science and 5 years of professional work experience, or High School Diploma and 9 years of professional work experience
  • US Citizenship required; must have an active Secret clearance
  • Possess an industry certification in the field of Networking, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or equivalent
  • Must have Cisco network engineering experience
  • Working knowledge of SolarWinds Orion platform (or similar) and Cisco ISE

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working within a Federal or DoD environment
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
