Responsibilities

Analyzes changes of product design to determine the effect on the product design and function and determines and prepares documentation necessary for change. Develops and maintains software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products. Performs configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable. May develop software configuration standards for company-wide use. May train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring all additions, deletions, and changes to the infrastructure/environment including hardware, server, network components, desktop components, software, firmware updates, configuration changes, etc., are documented.
  • Document standard configurations for all devices within in the infrastructure.
  • Ensure configurations align to organizational baseline requirements.
  • Maintain and improve the current CM database within the organization’s ITSM Tool, to include the accuracy and completeness of CIs, using standard naming conventions. Track, manage, and audit CIs and report audit findings.
  • Review CM tools and process advancements and recommend process improvements. Implement approved changes in tools and processes.
  • Review / update the Configuration Plan, as needed.  Prepare Configuration Control Board, and other, reports as needed.
  • Ensure configuration changes, etc. are documented, assessed and approved in accordance with M/CIO’s defined Configuration Management (CM) process prior to implementation.
  • Administer and maintain source code management tools, such as Azure code repository.
  • Establish and maintain an enterprise source code repository that includes USAID internally Agency developed, and non-Agency developed source code. Publish source code to Code.gov per OMB Source Code Policy, M-16-21.

Qualifications

Basic Qualification:

  • U.S. Citizen
  • An active SECRET or the ability to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 – 7 years, Master’s degree with 3 - 5 years, or PhD with 0 – 2 years; four (4) years of experience can be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to do what is needed to achieve learning goals.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate with individuals at many different levels from within and from outside of the organization.

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
