About The Role

Join Peraton in advancing the safety, efficiency, and modernization of the National Airspace System (NAS) through the FAA’s Business, National Airspace, and Technical Computing Services (BNATCS) contract. We are seeking an experienced Continuous Improvement Lead to drive operational excellence, quality management, and process improvement across BNATCS projects. This role ensures compliance with organizational standards and industry frameworks such as ISO, CMMI, and ITIL, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement that enhances system performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Support program and project managers in implementing and institutionalizing process excellence and best practices across all BNATCS workstreams.

  • Conduct process and product evaluations (audits) to ensure compliance with FAA, BNATCS, and Peraton quality standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Perform audits and assessments against recognized frameworks including ISO 20000, ISO 27001, ISO 9001:2008, CMMI-DEV/CMMI-SVC Level 3, and ITIL.

  • Evaluate software development, system integration, and service delivery performance against established standards, documentation, and project schedules.

  • Develop and maintain audit checklists, templates, and evaluation tools to assess compliance and maturity across projects.

  • Facilitate root cause analyses, lessons learned sessions, and corrective/preventive action plans to resolve process gaps and drive measurable improvements.

  • Collect, analyze, and report process and quality metrics to project management and Corporate Quality leadership.

  • Track and escalate non-compliance issues and ensure timely resolution and closure of audit findings.

  • Maintain the Process Asset Library (PAL), ensuring all process definitions, templates, and reference materials are up to date and accessible.

  • Provide training and coaching to employees and project teams on CMMI, ISO, ITIL, and project management best practices.

  • Support and participate in corporate quality initiatives, including CMMI Level 3 appraisals, ISO re-certifications, and internal quality audits.

  • Interface with FAA stakeholders and internal customers to verify the delivery of high-quality work products aligned with mission objectives.

  • May serve as a SCAMPI Team Member during CMMI maturity assessments and as an ISO Internal Auditor.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • 12 years of experience, may have supervisory or management experience
  • 8+ years of experience in quality assurance, process improvement, or program compliance, with hands-on involvement in ISO and CMMI implementations.

  • Demonstrated experience implementing ISO 9001, ISO 20000, ISO 27001, CMMI-DEV/SVC Level 3, and ITIL frameworks.

  • Strong understanding of software development, system engineering, and service management processes.

  • Experience conducting audits, process reviews, and gap analyses in a government or aerospace environment.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Proven record of facilitating organizational change and building quality-centric cultures.

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting FAA or other federal aviation modernization programs (e.g., NextGen, ERAM, or NAS Voice).

  • CMMI Associate or Lead Appraiser certification.

  • ISO 9001/20000/27001 Lead Auditor certification.

  • ITIL Foundation or higher-level certification.

  • PMP or Lean Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt).

SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
