Are you ready to take your career to the next level while supporting some of the most critical cyber intelligence operations in the nation? Peraton is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to become an integral part of our high-performing Cyber Intel team in Laurel, MD.
In this dynamic and mission-driven role, you’ll support cloud-based repositories used daily by thousands of users across the Intelligence Community. You’ll work in a fast-paced, evolving environment where your expertise in Linux systems administration, Hadoop/Accumulo clusters, and scripting will help maintain, monitor, and optimize cutting-edge infrastructure.
Monitor system health and performance across large-scale data clusters
Troubleshoot system, network, and data flow issues to minimize downtime
Manage and maintain scalable storage systems and system security
Collaborate across hardware, software, network, and security teams to support and enhance operations
Provide on-call support to ensure mission-critical systems stay online
Support patching, upgrades, user account management, and hardware tracking
Create and maintain scripts (Bash, Python) to automate system tasks
Participate in engineering design and technical discussions to drive continuous improvement
Proven experience as a Linux System Administrator, especially with large Hadoop and Accumulo clusters
Strong troubleshooting skills in operational, cloud-based environments
Comfort working in a high-tempo mission environment where priorities shift quickly based on global events
Familiarity with configuration management tools like Puppet
Strong communication and collaboration skills
