Cyber Systems Engineering, Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Peraton is currently seeking to hire the following role: Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Location: Remote

In this role, you will:

• Serve as the Cybersecurity SME for strategy, control design, and assurance.
• Review and validate security architectures, including identity, segmentation, encryption, and monitoring.
• Provide rapid surge support for incidents and vulnerabilities, triaging issues and recommending decisive actions.
• Support business development and proposals as needed, shaping security strategy and differentiators.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with 16 years of experience or a Master's degree with 14 years of experience or a PhD with 10 years of experience.
• Minimum of 10 years leading cybersecurity assessments and implementations for complex systems.
• Demonstrated incident response leadership, including triage and executive decision support.
• Track record implementing and operating identity and access management at scale.
• Experience delivering executive-ready briefings and stakeholder communications on security posture and risk.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• US Citizenship Required.
• Current active TOP SECRET security clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active TOP SECRET security clearance with SCI.
• ITIL 4 Foundations Certification.
• Knowledge of Software as a Service (SaaS) framework.
