Program Overview
About The Role

Peraton is hiring a Lead Designer to support the NASA’s Sounding Rocket Operations Contract (NSROC) is a sub-orbital space flight program located at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility (WFF), a part of NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). NSROC provides suborbital launch vehicles, payload development and field operations support to NASA’s Science Mission Directorate. The program enables the collection of Earth, Heliophysics and Astrophysics science.

 

This position will require an individual to be able to work individually and work in a team environment. The Designer will work on an on-call basis to design new and existing designs on the program.

 

Duties of the Position: 

  • Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
  • Must be an expert with computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or CATIA.
  • Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts and sketches to present a design proposal.
  • Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
  • Design PCB (Printed Circuit Board) layout
  • Provide electrical schematics and create a board layout that can be used to manufacture the circuit card. These layouts will include new designs and existing designs.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School and a 12 years of experience with design
  • Expert experience with Printed Circuit Board Design, design/develop, and Layout documentation, estimate generation and scheduling; Design specifications: IPC, ANSI, MILITARY and NASA
  • Must have advanced knowledge of the following Design Tools/applications; PADS PCB, Altium, Cadence, Autodesk AutoCAD & Inventor; Siemens- PADS VX Layout & Logic, Designer (DX-Designer); Altium Designer; OrCAD Capture CIS; 
  • Experience with NASA Standards with PCB manufacturing (DFM), assembly (DFA) and testing (DFT) processes

Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
