Peraton is currently seeking to hire an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our Federal Strategic Cyber Program

 

Location: Arlington, VA

  • Work Environment: Hybrid telework/remote. Must be available for on-site support as needed.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to support our Federal Strategic Cyber program. This role is critical to enabling secure, scalable, and efficient development and deployment processes across mission-driven systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using industry best practices.
  • Implement and manage containerization strategies with OpenShift/Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate CI/CD into the software lifecycle.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and availability.
  • Automate infrastructure and application deployment processes.
  • Apply security best practices across all DevOps procedures.
  • Promote DevOps principles and mentor teammates to adopt best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test, and production environments.

Qualifications

Required: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years related technical experience required. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree. 
  • Demonstrated experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes in production environments. 
  • Strong understanding of containerization principles (Docker, Podman, etc.). 
  • Experience with configuring and managing CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, etc.). 
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (Bash, Python, etc.). 
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) concepts and tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.). 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Experience with leveraging benefits of security products within DevSecOps workflow. 
  • Strong communication skills; can easily translate DevOps principles into understandable guidance for both the team and advise for our Customers.
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD Test Automation Pipeline & Reporting.
  • Experience with Openshift/Kubernetes and other container-based platforms.
  • Experience interfacing with clients, technical support personnel, and other technical professionals to ensure efficient and effective service. 
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • The ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance required. 
  • In addition, selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a favorably adjudicated DHS background investigation to start and for continued employment. 

 

Preferred: 

  • Experience with SAFe Agile testing environments. 
  • Experience using GitLab runners, OpenShift BuildConfigs, and/or OpenShift configurations that aid in continuous integration and continuous deployment models.

Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
