Program Overview
About The Role

Are you ready to take on a mission-critical Systems Engineering role that supports the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) in advancing a mature Zero Trust framework? If you're passionate about securing complex systems through integrated engineering across all seven Zero Trust pillars—user, device, data, application/workload, network/environment, visibility and analytics, and automation and orchestration—this is your opportunity.

As an Expert Systems Engineer, you’ll deliver strategic technical guidance to help NGA reduce risk and strengthen system security. You’ll support end-to-end engineering across the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System for Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and other Federal Agencies—ensuring timely and accurate GEOINT delivery.

What You’ll Do:

You’ll lead or support multi-disciplinary engineering efforts across system lifecycle phases, including:

  • Requirements Engineering

  • Solutions Engineering

  • Scheduling and Risk Management

  • Reliability and Resiliency

  • Integration, Test, and Evaluation

  • Maintainability and Performance Analysis

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Government in guiding engineering efforts across NSG, ASG, and Federal Agencies.

  • Plan and analyze user requirements, architecture traceability, and system improvements—including cloud services, workflows, and automation.

  • Advise on solution designs and recommend changes based on evolving requirements and emerging technologies.

  • Translate mission and customer needs into technical capabilities and system requirements.

  • Assist with requirements allocation to architecture components and support integration across systems.

  • Lead or contribute to Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Course of Actions (CoAs), Trade Studies, and Engineering Assessments.

  • Support strategic planning, project management, and interface design.

  • Provide expert advice to help align technical vision, strategy, capability development, and future needs.

  • Operate at an enterprise level—integrating multiple major systems acquisitions across agencies and national boundaries.

  • Leverage in-depth knowledge of the NSG/ASG and NRO enterprise environments.

Why Join Us?
This role offers the opportunity to work on the front lines of national security transformation—helping shape the Zero Trust strategy across a complex, mission-critical enterprise. You’ll collaborate with top-tier professionals and agencies while making a real impact on the future of GEOINT.
