Program Overview
About The Role

 

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Operations Manager to oversee the support, optimization, and performance of a highly available IT infrastructure environment in support of a federal government program. This role requires deep technical knowledge of cloud systems (especially AWS GovCloud), IT operations, system integration, and leadership in managing diverse teams in complex enterprise environments.

 

What you will do:

 

  • Administer, maintain, and support applications, operating systems, and network infrastructure.
  • Monitor and evaluate system performance daily to ensure optimal uptime and response times for mission-critical applications.
  • Design, implement, and maintain servers and virtual environments for development, testing, and production.
  • Manage backups, failover processes, system updates, and data integrity procedures.
  • Administer operations across public/private cloud environments, including cloud automation and deployment.
  • Maintain cloud and VMware infrastructure while implementing operational standards.
  • Coordinate and lead multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring quality service delivery across platforms.
  • Support Agile development teams and manage changes impacting infrastructure architecture.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and government stakeholders to ensure project alignment and operational excellence.
  • Track system usage, create reports, and support audits and compliance requirements.
Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • 10 years of experience, may have supervisory or lead experience
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience managing IT operations, including infrastructure, applications, and cloud systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership in supporting large-scale, high-availability IT environments integrated with business-critical systems.
  • Strong understanding of AWS GovCloud, Identity and Access Management, and VMware infrastructure.
  • AWS Solutions Architect – Certification
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) – Certification
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior government officials.
  • Expertise in recent technology trends in IT infrastructure, cloud services, and systems engineering.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Agency Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • ITIL Foundation Certification or equivalent operational knowledge of IT service delivery
  • Proven success managing hybrid environments and cloud-first infrastructure strategies.
  • Experience leading system modernization, cloud migration, or enterprise IT transformation initiatives.
SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
