Program Overview
Supports the U. S. Air Force by providing processes and tools to enable the enterprise division and its customers to acquire, develop, manage, transform, inspect, store, distribute, and maintain technical data. Recognized as the authority in technical data management, the program sustains two Air Force Enterprise systems.
About The Role

Peraton is currently seeking a Linux, Disaster Recovery and ESX Systems Administrator for its' Product Data Systems Support program at Robins AFB. 

 

Location: Robins AFB, GA. Full-time, on-site required. 

 

Role and Responsibilities: 

The Linux, Disaster Recovery and ESX Systems Administrator ensures the reliable and efficient operation of Linux and ESX server infrastructure and associated business applications. This role is responsible for daily system support, infrastructure deployments, and routine disaster recovery preparation.

  • ESX deployment and virtual machine management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily maintenance and monitoring to ensure server availability, integrity, and performance.
  • Respond to incidents and alerts; identify root causes and implement resolutions to minimize downtime.
  • Execute infrastructure changes and maintain operational documentation, standards, and procedures.
  • Contribute to the design and build of new server and application infrastructure.
  • Analyze technology requirements to ensure compatibility with existing standards.
  • Assist in implementing server changes to support performance and capacity goals.
  • Ensure regular execution of maintenance activities in compliance with security and operational standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation including procedures, system diagrams, and operational workflows.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and minimum of 5 years experience; Masters and minimum of 3 years; or a PhD. Additional 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree. 
  • Strong proficiency with Red Hat Linux operating systems
  • Proven troubleshooting skills for Linux OS and application-level issues.
  • Hands-on experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible).
  • Solid understanding of networking and storage fundamentals.
  • Experience in virtualization technologies, including server builds, patching, and configuration management.
  • Familiarity with DISA STIGs and DoD compliance requirements for system hardening
  • Experience managing VMware vCenter, ESXi patching, and snapshots.
  • Working knowledge of disaster recovery processes.
  • Understanding of SAN technologies and storage networking.
  • Active CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • U.S. citizenship required. 
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Eligibility to work on Robins AFB and obtain a DoD CAC

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Apache, Tomcat, and JBOSS.
  • Familiarity with NetBackup (client and server).
  • Working knowledge of Hitachi SANs and Cisco fabric switches.
  • Experience managing server-based Java applications.
  • Practical experience hardening systems for DoD accreditation using DISA STIGs.
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible automation.
  • Exposure to containerization tools such as Docker and/or Kubernetes.

Details

Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
