Program Overview
Provide warfighters with reliable strike planning and execution tools for Theater Missile Programs while modernizing and expanding beyond Tomahawk missiles. Our work includes developing and maintaining proprietary software, offering full lifecycle support from design to deployment, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards.
About The Role

Peraton is hiring a Model Based Systems Engineer(MBSE) focusing on application development supporting the Tomahawk Weapon System (TWS), as well as other military projects.  This role will be a hybrid position located on-site 3 days/off 2 days in Santa Clara, CA.

 

Peraton is seeking candidates to join our Software Development team and support exciting projects across Peraton’s Defense sector in areas such as communications, cybersecurity, mission planning and command and control. Potential candidates will be responsible for supporting our client's mission goals and strategic objectives. The candidate will be responsible for providing technical guidance and support for application development, integration, test, and deployment of developed systems.

 

What you'll do:

  • Ensure accurate translation of high-level mission CONOPS and System Requirements into software requirements; develop lower-level detailed implementation requirements
  • Conduct System requirements analysis, generation of requirement specifications and compliance tracking
  • Maintain, review and update existing DoDAF system models using Cameo 
  • Interact with customers on technical matters, often requiring coordinated activity across organizational lines.
  • Communicate progress, status, briefings, and tasking to customers and team
  • Contribute to the design and definition of system functionality and component interfaces
  • Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and charts.
  • Attend relevant component readiness reviews and testing milestones and provide recommendations to customer management
  • Conduct Integration Testing to ensure system behavior meets customer expectations and requirements
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; HS Diploma and 6 years experience in lieu of a degree
  • Clearance:  active Secret clearance
  • Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
  • Applied knowledge of the systems development life cycle, including requirements analysis, documentation development, control gates, and system verification
  • Working knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and concepts (i.e. Cameo) and familiarization of the DoDAF Viewpoints and Models
  • Ability to work within and across multi-discipline teams to ensure interfaces are thoroughly defined, properly designed, and correctly implemented
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior military background and/or experience working on Department of Defense led software projects
  • Familiarity working in an Agile development environment adhering to SafeAgile principles
  • Experience with software development management tools (JIRA, AzureDevOps, etc.)

Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
