About The Role

Peraton is seeking an experienced Network Engineer  to work onsite in Honolulu, HI at  Ft. Shafter, HI.

 

What you will do: 

 

Providing advanced technical support for the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise-level unclassified and classified network infrastructure at HQ PACAF.  This position focuses on hands-on engineering support, Tier 3 diagnostics, and optimizing the performance of a mission-critical communications environment in accordance with DoD and PACAF.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide Tier 3 network engineering support and troubleshooting for O&M operations across PACAF networks
  • NIPR/SIPR/Coalition).
  • Support SDP development in coordination with the lead Network Architect and A6 stakeholders.
  • Support implementation and sustainment of routing, switching, segmentation, firewalls, and QoS configurations.
  • Conduct change management planning, including technical implementation procedures and risk assessments.
  • Execute network upgrades and integration of hardware/software solutions.
  • Perform diagnostics for complex network service issues.
  • Ensure RMF-aligned security integration across all changes.
  • Coordinate with PACAF/A6 and stakeholders for validation.
  • Survey and assess facilities for potential upgrades.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • Minimum of BS/BA and 8 years, MS/MA and 6 years, PhD and 3 years of senior-level network engineering experience designing and implementing secure, scalable DoD networks
  • Active DOD Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Active Cisco CCNP (Routing & Switching or Enterprise Infrastructure) or equivalent advanced networking certification
  • DoD IAT Level III certification in ACTIVE status
  • Network architecture, routing protocols, firewall policy, QoS
  • VMware, Microsoft Teams, VoIP/Unified Comms, Windows Server
  • Cloud-enablement strategies and cross-domain solutions
    Proven track record of designing and implementing secure, scalable DoD enterprise networks (classified and unclassified)
  • Advanced technical expertise in VMware, VOIP phones, Microsoft Teams, and Windows Server systems
  • Expertise with network architecture, firewall policy, routing protocols, QoS, Cloud-enablement strategies, and cross-domain solutions
  • Experience performing Tier 3 O&M support, configuration, and engineering for large-scale military networks
  • Deep knowledge of DoD architecture frameworks, RMF, and PACAF-specific mission demands

Ability to provide:

  • System Design Plan (SDP) to include drawings, rack elevations, and configurations
  • Cable run details (fiber, copper, power, grounding)
  • Site preparation actions (facilities, power, grounding, bonding)
  • Systems Integration Test (SIT) and Systems Acceptance Test (SAT) plans

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • Cisco CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure or Security
  • Cloud Architecture certification (AWS Solutions Architect, DoD Cloud certs)
  • Cisco CCDP or equivalent vendor-neutral certification
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proven ability to work independently or collaboratively in rapidly changing environments
  • Proven ability to support senior leaders in a Joint Operations Center with technical expertise
SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
