Peraton is seeking a Network Engineer. The position includes responsibilities like designing, implementing, and maintaining an organization's network infrastructure, troubleshooting advanced issues, and ensuring network security. Key requirements are extensive experience (prefer 8-15 years), advanced knowledge of networking hardware and software, strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Soft skills such as communication, leadership, and collaboration are also essential for leading other engineers and managing projects effectively. Must have a security clearance and be eligible for a Top Secret Clearance.
Planning, designing, and implementing scalable and functional network architectures to meet business goals.
Installing, configuring, monitoring, and maintaining network hardware, software, and communication links.
Resolving complex network hardware and software problems and providing escalated technical support.
Creating and updating network diagrams and detailed documentation.
Conducting performance tests, analyzing network structures, and making recommendations for improvements.
Managing and delegating tasks to junior engineers and training staff on network usage.
Compiling and presenting network status reports to management and stakeholders.
Extensive knowledge of network operating systems (e.g., Cisco IOS).
Proficiency with networking hardware, including routers, switches.
Expertise in protocols like OSFP, BGP and other communication protocols.
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure technologies.
Typically, a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field and 12 years experience. Master's Degree and 10 years experience, PhD and 7 years experience
Experience in the networking field.
Must hold at least an Interim Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance
