About The Role

Ready to make an impact! Peraton is seeking a motivated National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) Communications and Satellite Control Network (SCN) Liaison in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to support our Front Range Operations and Sustainment Team (FROST) program, and to provide satellite support service to our mission critical Government customer.  FROST conducts real time on-orbit support, launch ascent support and End-of-Life operations for all NOPS supported operations. You will provide the NRO with a single operational and engineering interface to the Satellite Control Network (SCN).  The work is performed at Schriever Garrison. This position performs satellite operations and health checks on satellite systems.

 

National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) Communications and Satellite Control Network (SCN) Liaison is responsible for, but not limited to, the following: 

  • Initiate and Submit Customer Service Requests, Incident Reports and Telephone Requests.
  • Review and coordinate External User RFC’s and SCN RFC's, Review/Resolve/Close SCN/NRO COMM Problem Reports.
  • Coordinate Authorized/Demand Maintenance Action, Support various meetings, Telecoms, and installation/maintenance
  • Assist with various circuit cut-over testing and verification.
  • Update and Brief Slides for Commanders daily standup. Lead/Brief the PR Working group.
  • Escort Maintenance personnel for WANIU Maintenance actions and PMI’s.
  • Perform SWMA (Soft Ware Maintenance Action) on NOPS SCN WANIUs.
  • Update Passwords on NOPS SCN WANIUs.
  • Provide launch and operations engineering support.
  • Participate in Factory SCN Compatibility Tests (FACT) Site Surveys to include but not limited to:
    • Meeting with Factory and Program personnel to discuss trailer location, installation of power interface or arrangements for generator and fuel.
    • RF cable routing and required mouse holes for cables.
    • Baseband Comm path identified and equipment installation. Address Factory Security concerns and clearance information. Address approval for our modems into/out of the Factory.
    • Address Unclassified phone connectivity from Factory to our Van. Address Security requirements for van access onto campus. Facility access for meetings, bathrooms, Red Phone and NMIS access
    • Process for Spec-A captures and options. Review of Unclassified Test Procedure. Identify daily test schedule (days and hours being worked). Discuss any additional questions or concerns.
  • Participate in FACTs to include, but not limited to:
    • Set up and Tear down of van including:
      • Chocking and leveling trailer, erecting GPS and lightning rods
      • Installing Tech Power and Utility Cables.
      • Installing ground cables.
  • Set up stairs. Remove AC covers.
  • Perform on-site management of Frost personnel and coordinate with the Program Manager on all issues, questions, training, travel, etc. Manage on site Peraton Frost personnel
  • Support Peraton RFI, proposal, and ECP growth opportunities by providing Space Engineering and Resource Scheduling SME inputs.

 

FROST mission critical support requires maintaining a team presence 24 hours per day, seven (7) days per week, and 365/366 days per year, including federal holidays. 

 

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Must have an active TS/SCI with a POLY
  • High School Diploma/GED and 6 years of experience in management, operations, and/or maintenance related to Space Operations/Maintenance; USSF Satellite Control Network operations/maintenance experience preferred, including military or civilian training space operations/maintenance training.
  • Experience in data/communications circuit management related to space communications circuits. 
  • Applicants selected will be subject to government security investigations and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Must be able to work shifts as required to support mission operations.

 Desired Experience

  • National Reconnaissance Office communications experience preferred.
  • Ability to solve complex problems in a challenging and dynamic environment.
  • Analytical skills and the ability to perform assigned technical tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

Details

Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
