About The Role

We are seeking a Senior System Architect to provide technical leadership and strategic guidance in the design, development, and implementation of complex enterprise solutions. This role oversees applications, APIs, data services, platforms, cloud environments, and infrastructure systems, ensuring alignment with organizational requirements, strategic objectives, and Enterprise Architecture standards. The Senior System Architect also provides mentorship and direction to Mid- and Junior-Level System Architects.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Provide expert guidance to Mid- and Junior-Level System Architects in the design, development, documentation, and maintenance of solution architectures.

  • Ensure all architectures maintain alignment and traceability to Enterprise Architecture standards and enterprise-level objectives.

  • Mentor and develop team members, promoting technical excellence and adherence to best practices.

Strategic Solution Design

  • Lead the analysis of user requirements, system capabilities, workflows, and constraints to identify opportunities for automation, system improvement, and modernization.

  • Recommend architectural solutions that balance technical feasibility, performance, and enterprise objectives.

Innovation & Optimization

  • Oversee proposed architectural changes and enhancements, ensuring solutions leverage emerging technologies and industry best practices.

  • Promote improvements in system performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.

Collaboration & Governance

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure architecture designs comply with enterprise-wide standards, security policies, and operational requirements.

  • Support governance processes and provide input for architecture reviews, assessments, and decision-making.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Education / Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related STEM discipline;

    • OR 12 years of relevant experience as a Systems Architect may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

  • Professional Experience:

    • Minimum of 12 years of experience in government or industry in one or more of the following domains:

      • Enterprise Architecture

      • Solution Architecture

      • Data Architecture

      • Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF)

      • Intelligence Community (IC) Program Architecture Guidance (PAG)

  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance or the ability to obtain SCI access and successfully pass a polygraph examination.

Desired Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related STEM discipline.

  • Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles, processes, tools, and languages.

  • Certifications:

    • Federated Enterprise Architect – Certified Enterprise Architect credential.

SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
