Program Overview
About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to oversee and enhance network infrastructure, operating systems, and enterprise-level systems management. This role requires expertise in network administration, virtualization technologies, system integration, and troubleshooting, ensuring optimal performance and security. The ideal candidate will provide strategic technical guidance while maintaining compliance with industry standards and government regulations.

 

  • Network Infrastructure & System Management:
    • Supervise, coordinate, design, and implement changes to network hardware, infrastructure server environments, operating systems, and attached devices.
    • Investigate, analyze, recommend, configure, install, and test new network hardware and software solutions.
    • Monitor system utilization, response times, and provide primary support for detecting and correcting operational issues.
  • Troubleshooting & Performance Optimization:
    • Address technical challenges at both physical and logical network levels, utilizing advanced diagnostics tools and communication protocols.
    • Maintain infrastructure standards, including network communication protocols like TCP/IP.
  • Strategic Planning & Implementation:
    • Lead planning, technical design reviews, and implementation for voice and data communication networks.
    • Perform systems management and integration functions to maintain efficiency.
    • Optimize virtualization technologies for scalable infrastructure solutions.
  • Compliance & Security:
    • Ensure systems remain current with approved patches and align with certification and accreditation requirements.
    • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Quick Reference Guides for users.
    • Diagnose and resolve complex communication challenges to maintain a secure and reliable environment.
  • Client/Server Development & Consulting:
    • Lead the design and development of a client/server architecture supporting enterprise-wide initiatives.
    • Advise on technological acquisitions, including data processing, storage, access, and applications development.
    • Establish and maintain standards for relational database structures and system interoperability.
  • Team Support & Training:
    • Provide technical consultation, training, and mentorship to IT staff as designated by the government.
    • Guide management on the feasibility of future projects and recommend strategic solutions for effective implementation.
Qualifications
  • Expertise in virtualization technologies, system integration, and network administration.
  • Strong understanding of communication protocols (TCP/IP) and advanced troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Experience in security compliance, accreditation processes, and patch management.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate with IT teams on enterprise-level initiatives.
  • 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, network administration, or enterprise IT environments.
  • A current/active TS/SCI security clearance and the ability to obtain/pass a polygraph.
  • Associates degree and 10+ years of experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience; However, four (4) years of additional relevant experience or specialized training will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with cloud computing, automation, and data center migrations.

Details

Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
