Engineering modernization and integration practices to include Digital Engineering and Agile at Scale for all of NGA, NSG, and ASG.
About The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead & Mentor: Guide mid- and junior-level systems engineers, fostering technical excellence and professional growth across diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Architect for Impact: Design and evolve solution architectures aligned with complex operational requirements and emerging technologies, including cloud and data services.
  • Mission Requirements to Reality: Translate high-level mission needs into actionable technical and operational system requirements with traceability and clarity.
  • Systems Integration: Oversee integration efforts across multiple domains, platforms, and acquisition programs, ensuring interoperability and performance.
  • Strategic Analysis: Drive informed decision-making through in-depth Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Course of Action (CoA) development, trade studies, and risk assessments.
  • Enterprise Collaboration: Operate at the enterprise level to harmonize services, systems, and processes across inter-agency and cross-domain initiatives.
  • Optimization & Governance: Contribute to strategic technical planning, project governance, performance tuning, and interface design across a range of mission-critical applications.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related technical or scientific field such as Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or other STEM disciplines — or equivalent additional experience of 4 years with no degree or 2 years with a non-STEM degree.
  • 12+ years experience in government or industry supporting relevant domains such as the DoD/IC Acquisition Process, Requirements Process, PPBES, or systems engineering for large-scale, complex System-of-Systems or Service-Oriented Architectures operating in cloud, on-premise, or hybrid environments.
  • Strong understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, integration, testing, and sustainment.
  • Experience or sound understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence and DOORS Next Gen (DNG) digital engineering tools.
  • Working knowledge of the Agile Software Development Framework.
  • Experience with Sensor programs and NGA Segments.
  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a polygraph.

Desired:

  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or related STEM field.
  • Proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, processes, and languages.
  • Familiarity with Digital Engineering methodologies and tools.
  • Understanding of modern Software Development Frameworks (e.g., Agile, DevSecOps).
  • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or equivalent certification.
  • Relevant experience in geospatial intelligence (GEOINT).
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Active involvement or leadership roles in professional organizations such as:
    • ACSM (American Congress on Surveying and Mapping)
    • ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers)
    • ASPRS (American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing)
    • OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium)
    • SAREM
    • USGIF (United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation)
  • Demonstrated expertise in disciplines such as photogrammetry, remote sensing, image science, GIS, geomatics, or related technical areas.
  • Knowledge of current NSG/ASG and NRO enterprise systems and structures.
  • Previous experience supporting NGA, NSG/ASG, or other Intelligence Community (IC)/Department of Defense (DoD) programs or projects.

Details

Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
