Program Overview
Peraton provides USSOCOM, its Component Commands, Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), deployed forces, CIO/J6, and end-users with high-quality IT platform and network services over an eight-year period.
About The Role

Peraton requires a Service Modernization & Automation Lead to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3 EOM.

This position is located at MacDill AFB in Florida. 

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.  

The Service Modernization and Automation Lead will spearhead the stand-up and execution of a new enterprise function within the Enterprise Operations Support organization, dedicated to managing the full lifecycle of service modernization and automation efforts. This role is focused on transforming and optimizing existing operational services rather than introducing new IT service capabilities to enhance agility, resilience, and mission alignment across the enterprise. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage existing enterprise services, from assessment and planning through implementation, sustainment, and retirement. 
  • Direct and support Service Modernization Managers overseeing domain-specific portfolios, ensuring accountability, performance tracking, and strategic alignment. 
  • Design and implement standardized workflows and automation strategies that reduce manual effort and improve service delivery. 
  • Integrate modernization efforts with ITSM governance, RMF compliance, and ServiceNow automation capabilities. 
  • Drive operational excellence through data-driven portfolio analysis, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement. 
  • Ensure modernization efforts support mission readiness, operational resilience, and long-term scalability across the J63 operational community. 
Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Min 12 years with HS degree, 10 years with AS/AA degree, 8 years with BS/BA, 6 years with MS/MA, 3 years with a PHD 
  • DoD TS/SCI clearance  
  • Experience leading operational service transformation efforts within complex enterprise environments 
  • Expertise in service lifecycle management, workflow optimization, and automation strategies 
  • Background in IT portfolio management and cross-functional coordination 
  • Familiarity with ITIL-based service design, transition, and operations 
  • Ability to lead matrixed teams and drive measurable outcomes across diverse modernization domains 

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience with ServiceNow workflow design, automation, and reporting 
  • Familiarity with RMF, ATO processes, and DoD cybersecurity frameworks 
  • PMP or PgMP certification 
  • ITIL v4 certification 
  • Experience managing enterprise-wide modernization portfolios across cyber, network, cloud, and virtualization domains 
SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
