About The Role

Peraton and its Operational Planning, Implementation and Assessment Services Team is seeking an experienced Social Network Analyst to integrate into all facets of USCYBERCOM level planning. This USCYBERCOM position is based in Fort Meade, MD.  

 

What You'll Do:

  • Provide continuous monitoring, expert analysis, and assessment of global, regional, trans-regional and tailored areas of online geopolitical media and news sources. The specific area of subject matter expertise needed to be successful in this position include applied experience in social/new media engagement, social and cultural understanding, linguistic skills, and geo-political knowledge (including USG policy).
  • Gathering information on trends, behaviors, events and directed global developments to generate media synopsis reports, assessments of local social media discourse that spans the Department of Defense’s geographical CCMDs areas of responsibilities with emphasis on CYBERCOM’s specific problem set
  • Produce predictive recommendations and identify anticipated strategic communications opportunities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategies to reach local target audiences and support communications plans
  • Monitor industry and technology trends in traditional, digital, social, mobile media platforms and assessments
  • Use industry best practice methods appropriate to pre-defined client criteria to assess media products and online communications.
  • Specific daily job requirements include the following duties:
  • Monitors the social media environment utilizing open source/publicly available information and analytical tools to conduct analyses.
  • Perform expert level open source/publicly available information research and analysis using open sources, databases, and myriad other inputs to determine the operating characteristics and or patterns of adversaries
  • Conduct social network research and analysis on adversary influence operations, their vulnerabilities, and our ability to counter
  • Perform analysis of the social network environs of the larger information environment and provides trend analysis of both friendly and adversary operations and activities
  • Employ advanced analytical tools and processes in conjunction with open source/publicly available information analysis to generate historical and predictive representations of threat entities within the social network environment
  • Respond to requests for information by researching, synthesizing, evaluating, and providing assessments based on multi-sourced information
  • Coordinate with operations, intelligence, and assessments teams in order to synchronize and synthesize social network analysis with current and future operations and assessments of those operations
  • Utilize tools, databases, and websites to collect and analyze and information, and maintain proficiency in all tools, software, and databases
  • Perform analysis and research tasks as required to acquire, produce, and prepare social network analysis reports and presentations for dissemination in accordance with all Departmental, Joint, Service, and Combatant Command-level established guidelines and policies
  • Prepare reports of analysis and make recommendations to USCYBERCOM senior leaders.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must possess either a Bachelor's Degree with 5 years; a Master's Degree with 3 years; OR 9 years of relevant experience with emphasis on OSINT and Social Networking.
  • Must have subject matter expertise as a social networking analyst focused on application of networking to influence foreign audiences in accordance with U.S. Government objectives
  • Experience with collecting, analyzing, and preparing reports and data to support the Government’s decision process
  • Superior briefing skills with an exceptional reputation and record of working alongside CCMD HQ leadership
  • Excellent oral, written and electronic communication in English
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Clearance: This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance, based on current security background investigation with the ability to complete/pass a Polygraph
    • A Top-Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a SCI will be considered along with passing the Polygraph
  • Must possess a valid U.S. Passport, not expiring within 6 months
  • Must be willing to travel 10% CONUS 

Preferred:

  • Current Polygraph
  • Knowledge of advanced analytic tools in social networking or the social sciences
  • Experience with Information Operations (IO) - Particularly understanding MISO doctrine
  • Experience as a media monitor/researcher for the DOD
  • 3 years’ experience in coordinating, and executing full spectrum Military Information Support Operations at the tactical, regional, and Combatant Command level
  • Experience developing Intel collection requirements and accessing Intel systems for assessments of MISO products
  • Knowledge of geo-spatial analysis tools and application to planning requirements and influence campaign assessments
  • Former military background in PSYOP, Electronic Warfare (EW), Cyber, IO, Public Affairs, and/or time as a Foreign Area Office (FAO)
  • Experience working for/with USG agencies outside of DoD in the information space, to include; Department of State, US Embassy Public Affairs Sections, the US Agency for Global Media (USAGM), etc.

Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
