Program Overview
Provides IC data management support to modernize mega data repositories, dataflow management, data provenance and compliance validation, and streaming solutions.
About The Role

The team is seeking a Software Engineer to extract meaningful insights from both structured and unstructured data. This role involves leveraging statistical methods and machine learning to uncover patterns and behaviors, using query and visualization tools such as DataXplorer and GMAE to present datasets in a clear, story-driven manner. The engineer will develop new methodologies for automated data characterization, analyze and define requirements for the ingestion of new and existing data types, and collaborate with customer teams to understand mission objectives and needs. The ideal candidate has experience with data enrichment and conversion, familiarity with data ontologies and schemas, strong knowledge of structured data formats (XML, CSV, JSON), and hands-on database experience.

Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 20 years of experience as a Software Engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four additional years of SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

  • Experience in analytic development using scripting languages such as Python and Scala, leveraging statistical libraries for data analysis.

  • Skilled with big data processing frameworks including Pig, MapReduce, and Spark, with experience in scaling algorithms over large datasets, managing data flows, Pig scripting, and using various analytic tools.

  • Experience in Java/Python development, analytic workflows, and working knowledge of Apache NiFi is desired.

  • Ability to develop simple queries for existing or proposed databases and data repositories.

  • Must possess TS/SCI with polygraph, or have the ability to obtain one.

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience combining analysis, computer science, mathematics, and software engineering skills to extract meaning and value from large datasets.

  • Experience with predictive analytics, machine learning, and data mining.

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with development and systems engineering teams, stakeholders, agencies, and leadership.

  • Knowledge of data indexing and analytic development.

  • Experience working with cloud service providers and data stewards.

  • Demonstrated expertise in network metadata processing, manipulation, and analysis in support of intelligence operations.

Details

Target Salary Range: $146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
