Program Overview
About The Role

At Peraton, we're supporting critical missions across the national security space. We are seeking a Systems Administrator to join our team, where you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining the performance, security, and reliability of multi-user computer systems across multiple security domains.

 

In this role, you’ll work alongside network engineers and IT security specialists to ensure our systems operate efficiently and securely. If you're a proactive problem solver with hands-on experience in Linux and Windows system administration, and you're looking to make an impact, we’d like to meet you.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Ensure smooth operations of multi-user computer systems across multiple security domains.

  • Coordinate closely with network engineers and security teams to optimize system performance and uptime.

  • Monitor system resources (CPU, disk, memory) to maintain optimal performance and operating efficiency.

  • Perform system security administration tasks including creation and management of user accounts and access profiles.

  • Configure and manage administrator accounts, maintain system documentation, and allocate mass storage.

  • Install and support COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) software, including developing automated installation processes.

  • Debug and resolve system integration issues and deployment-related problems.

  • Monitor AWS services; help develop scripts for system monitoring and proactive issue detection.

  • Maintain and update server certifications across multiple classified environments.

  • Support backup and recovery processes.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly
  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.

    • Additional 4 years’ experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with:

    • Linux and Windows System Administration

    • VCenter System Administration

    • Multi-domain security operations and protocols

    • Basic network troubleshooting

  • Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python)

  • Experience with AWS, Postgres, and COTS tools such as Jive

  • Familiarity with Java, PHP, or Python programming

  • Active CompTIA Security+ CE certification

  • Knowledge of IC compliance, audit, and monitoring requirements (e.g., Splunk, Nessus)

  • Familiarity with endpoint security tools (e.g., McAfee/Trellix)

  • Experience supporting system accreditation efforts

  • Background in developing and troubleshooting cloud-based software solutions

Details

Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
