Program Overview
About The Role

We are hiring! Peraton is looking for a Systems Administrator that will support our ACES Program. This role is fully remote but will require to go onsite periodically. The qualified candidate must reside within a commutable distance to Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

 

What you will do

  • Maintain Active Directory domain and infrastructure to include DNS, DHCP, Group policy, etc. In a lab environment to support the development team and related activities.
  • Configure server roles, promote server roles such as domain controllers, configure RAID, and configure services provided from network servers.
  • Configure and deploy Windows servers and in virtual and physical environments.
  • Maintain hypervisor host and Windows and RedHat Linux Virtual machines.
  • Maintain new and current systems by tuning performance, allocating storage space, and implementing critical system patches.
  • Provide procurement support for hardware and software that is not associated with enterprise software/hardware.
  • Regularly employ ingenuity and creativity to develop new technical solutions to achieve IT objectives.
  • Support and maintain applications including Subversion, Perforce Helix ALM, Jenkins, Veeam backup and restore, and other supporting development applications.
  • Implementing Windows and Linux security controls to maintain system compliance.  IE STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides), RMF (Risk Management Framework).
  • Develop and maintain documentation about current environment setup, standard operating procedures, and best practices.
  • Become the primary point of contact for all technical issues within the environment.
  • Maintain the helpdesk system and become part of rotating on call helpdesk support for external users.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience. Additional 4 years of experience will be accepted in lieu of the dgree
  • Hands on experience managing Microsoft technologies including Server 2016, IIS, and Hyper-V
  • Experience maintaining a Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization hosts
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as powershell for automation tasks.
  • Active or be able to obtain Comptia A+, Network + certification
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Ability to maintain an active Secret clearance

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience and knowledge of computer networking/IP protocols, and network technologies, including f5 load balancers.
  • Experience and knowledge of Windows server and RedHat Linux operating systems
  • Enhanced troubleshooting skills both within the server OS and computer networking
  • Working knowledge of access, permissions and security that gives the clients access to the data they need.
  • Active Secret clearance is a plus

 

SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
