Program Overview
About The Role

Peraton is seeking a Telecommunications Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on the DOJ EOUSA USAVoice program. This is a fully on-site position located at the government customer office, 175 N Street NE Washington, DC 20002.

 

The Telecommunications Engineer will play a key role in planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale telecommunications networks. This role covers voice, video, and data communications systems, ensuring reliable and secure connectivity across the enterprise.

 

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

 

Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Service Desk Support

  • Configuration and implementation of test and production environments.
  • Deployment of operational systems within the USAO customer base.
  • Tier 2 user support for USAVoice applications, features and services via the SCSM ticketing system.
  • Moves, adds, changes, deletes (MACD) support.
  • BroadWorks Call Center support.
  • AudioCodes and Edgewater device configuration and support.
  • Polycom and Cisco edge device configuration and support.
  • USAVoice end user support.
  • Ensure timely process through which problems are controlled. Includes problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up steps.
  • SharePoint content management – maintain repository of user guides, catalogs, procedures and system documentation
  • Logistics / shipping equipment, maintain stores of spare configured hardware
  • Manage / track deployed and in-house hardware using software inventory system
  • Meet all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) as specified in the Performance of Work Statement (PWS).
  • Escalation and management of complex support issues to Tier 3 support
  • Telecommunications engineering activities, including coordination with telecommunications vendors for troubleshooting when needed.
  • Managing project planning, scheduling, implementation and documentation
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and 5 years experience or Masters degree and 3 years experience or high school diploma/equivalent and minimum 9 years experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship required; Must have the ability to obtain/maintain a DOJ EOD security clearance.
  • Strong expertise in telecommunications voice support, with hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining telecom systems.

  • Ability to manage multiple telecom projects at different stages simultaneously, with excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to present recommendations and provide updates clearly to peers, leadership, and external vendors.

  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within diverse technical teams.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with both technical IT teams and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with EVOIP telecommunications analysis.

  • Hands-on experience with PRI provisioning, activation, and testing, including number porting, circuit setup, and POTS line ordering and provisioning.

  • Previous government contracting experience, particularly with FTS, Networx, GSA, or FAR.

  • In-depth knowledge of Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies.

  • Experience supporting cloud-based telecommunications applications.

  • ITIL Certification.

SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
