Program Overview
About The Role

We are looking to add a Tivoli Monitoring Engineer to our team of professionals.

 

What you'll do:

  • Tivoli Monitoring Infrastructure: Design, deploy, and maintain the Tivoli Monitoring infrastructure
  • Configure and manage Tivoli Monitoring servers, agents, and components
  • Monitoring Configuration: Define and implement monitoring configurations for various IT resources, including servers, databases, applications, and network devices
  • Customize and extend monitoring capabilities to meet specific requirements
  • Alerting and Notification: Configure alerting thresholds and notification mechanisms for proactive issue identification
  • Develop and implement automated responses to critical alerts
  • Performance Analysis: Analyze performance data collected by Tivoli Monitoring to identify trends and potential issues with Cognos and the Tivoli Data Warehouse
  • Provide recommendations for optimizing system and application performance
  • Custom Monitoring Solutions: Create and implement custom monitors and scripts for specialized monitoring needs
  • Integrate Tivoli Monitoring with other systems and tools as required
  • Capacity Planning: Perform capacity planning based on monitoring data to ensure resource availability meets business demands
  • Collaborate with IT teams to scale resources as needed
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Tivoli Monitoring configurations, customizations, and best practices
  • Develop procedural documentation for monitoring-related activities and configurations
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with IT teams, system administrators, and application owners to ensure effective monitoring coverage
  • Provide expertise and support for troubleshooting and issue resolution
  • Training: Conduct training sessions for IT teams and end-users on Tivoli Monitoring functionalities
  • Stay updated on the latest features and updates in Tivoli Monitoring
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years with AS/AA; Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD OR Minimum of 12 years with HS in lieu of degree
  • Must have active Security+ certification
  • Experience with IBM ITM, Netcool or Instana
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Proven Experience in Warehouse Proxy and Summarization Pruning Agent
  • Experience on Custom Monitoring like Log file monitoring, Network device Availability and Performance Monitoring
  • Deep Knowledge in ITM – Cognos Analytics server, DASH, Jazz and out of box report configuration, Integrating ITM with OMNIbus, LDAP
  • Experience in perl and shell scripting
  • Experience in OMNIbus

Preferred Qualification:

  • Active Secret clearance or higher
SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
