Program Overview
About The Role
Peraton seeks a Data Scientist to support Department of Defense Cyber Defense Command (DCDC) with DCO AI Cyber Security Support.
Location: Fort Meade, MD. In this role, conduct data analysis, develop analytical models, and create visualizations to support DCDC mission requirements and cyber defense operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform exploratory and diagnostic analyses to reveal trends and anomalies
- Develop and test ML models for threat detection and risk scoring
- Create data visualizations and analytical reports
- Support data preparation, transformation, and quality assurance
- Collaborate with data engineers on model operationalization
- Document analytical methods and findings
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD
Proficiency in Python, R, SQL
Experience with ML libraries (scikit-learn, pandas, numpy)
Data visualization skills (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly)
Understanding of statistical methods and data mining
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- U.S Citizenship required
- DoD TS clearance with ability to obtain/maintain SCI
Preferred Qualifications:
Data science certifications
Master's degree preferred in Data Science, Statistics, or related field (Bachelor's degree required)
