Program Overview
About The Role
- Administer, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases (2016+)
- Monitor performance, tune queries, and manage indexes and statistics
- Implement and manage backup, recovery, and high availability strategies
- Perform system administration tasks including patching, scripting, and server configuration
- Automate routine tasks using PowerShell or other scripting tools
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support application deployments
- Ensure database and system security through access controls and auditing
- Troubleshoot and resolve database and server issues in production and non-production environments
- Document procedures, configurations, and best practices
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 8+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA
- A current Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain a polygraph.
- Strong proficiency in T-SQL, query optimization, and database design
- Solid understanding of Windows Server administration
- Proficiency in PowerShell or other scripting languages
- Familiarity with backup tools, monitoring systems, and disaster recovery planning
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, or SSAS
- Experience using NiFi for ETL workflows
- Familiarity with Linux environments
- Exposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
