About The Role
Peraton is currently seeking a Network Engineer - LAN/ToR
The Network Engineer - LAN/ToR Roles and Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain continuous operation of Cisco Nexus layer 2 networks. Plans, evaluates, coordinates, and performs installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data communication networks
- Configure and deploy Cisco ISE for Network access management and Cisco NDFC for network automation and backup configurations
- Perform STIG maintenance to secure IT systems, software and networks for DoD Unclassified and Classified systems.
- Understand and utilize various network protocols to include SSH, VPC, Vlan Trunking, STP and other layer 2 technologies.
- Be familiar with DoD policies, regulations and governance in relation to IT systems
- Prepares or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions, technical diagrams, and other documentation. Where no documentation exists, assist in developing documentation.
- Utilize tools to monitor and assess network outages such as DX Spectrum.
- Assist with coordination of third-party maintenance for network equipment or with vendors for third-party support
- Willingness and availability to work outside normal business hours (evenings and weekends) as needed.
- Provide on-call support after business hours and during weekends when required.
- Must be able to work with general supervision and follow established procedures.
- Follow ITIL best practices to manage tickets and processes
Qualifications
5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD
Active DoD Secret Clearance
SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range
