Program Overview
Provides, protects, and defends enterprise information services to approximately 45,000 Army, joint and DoD customers across the European theater on a 24 x 7 x 365 days per year basis on classified, unclassified, and coalition networks.
About The Role
Peraton is looking to add an experienced AWS Solutions Architect/Developer to our ongoing development, maintenance, and data engineering team. We support the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Data Engineering and Processing (DEAP) project by providing analyses, solutions and maintenance of many processes that ingest financial market data used across multiple CFTC regulatory and analytical systems, including high‑volume, mission‑critical data ingest pipelines. These processes and the data ingested are critical to the mission of the CFTC. This position requires up to three (3) specific days onsite in the Washington DC facility and two (2) teleworking days per week.
What You Will Do:
- Serve in a technical lead role providing leadership for a small team of data engineers responsible for development, maintenance, and modernization of multiple DEAP ingest loaders.
- Serve as a member of an Agile team to provide engineering support and maintenance of services and processes that migrate and promote data and algorithms to the AWS cloud environment and supporting cloud databases.
- Design, code, test and implement AWS cloud-based solutions
- Work with the customer and Peraton team on requirements gathering and task estimation.
- Perform routine data checks, code development and quality checks.
- Perform database planning, design and implementation
- Perform systems analysis, design and implementation
- Perform code reviews and cloud deployments
- Provide regular status updates on progress both within the Agile framework and via weekly status reporting.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar discipline and at least 8 years of experience or a minimum of 6 years experience with a Master’s degree or Minimum of 3 years with PhD
- Familiar with tools such as AWS, Lambda, S3, Git, Azure DevOps, EC2, Step Function, Hive, Glue, Spectrum, Athena, S3, SNS SQS
- Strong experience with databases and programming with SQL, Python, XML, C# .Net
- Strong experience in analyzing and designing data migration strategies to load data from on-perm data warehouse (SQL Server) to cloud data warehouse (Redshift and RDS).
- Experience in ETL process using AWS resources
- Working experience using XML data exchange message formats, required modifications, or extensions
- AWS Solutions Architect certified
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Ability to work on-site at least 3 days a week in Washington, DC
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Public Trust or other active clearance
- Master’s degree in business, finance, computer science, statistics or related field and 6 years of experience
- Experience with microservices, distributed data processing, or event‑driven architectures.
- Prior experience supporting high‑volume data pipelines in a regulated environment.
- Experience with troubleshooting ingest failures, rule‑based validation systems, and XML/FIXML transformation workflows.

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
