Program Overview
About The Role

Peraton is currently seeking a highly regarded Business Development Director with a proven ability to identify and grow new business within the Defense Health Agency (DHA). The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of success in developing the market and pipelines to support identifying and winning new business, leading business development teams in capturing targeted programs in the IT, business operations and Logistics sectors. This position spans the spectrum across the DHA portfolio as well as the military services and other Department of Defense entities that support the market.

 

It is critical for the candidate to have current contacts and established relationships within the Systems Integration, IT, and mission solution communities across the DHA organization and customers.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Identifying, developing and leading opportunity maturation and pursuit, to include management and execution through qualification and capture
  • Thrive in an environment where they are responsible for the management and execution of the full life-cycle process across multiple simultaneous pursuits bringing them into qualified opportunities for capture and through proposal, ready for transition to execution.
  • Identify gaps and emerging requirements, perform market and economic analysis, conduct business intelligence, design and execute customer engagement plans, shaping win themes, and work hand in hand with our marketing and communications teams
  • Exercise sound judgment within broadly defined practices and policies; regularly interact with all levels of management, functional POCs, staff, and customers; and display a high degree of tact and diplomacy.
  • Excel at multi-tasking, familiarity with Peraton’s business development process and practices, business and technical vision; strategic thinking; analytical presentation and problem solving skills; the ability to gain internal support; and the ability to establish and maintain a solid working relationship with technical staff, managers, and peers.  Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 16 years of related experience in growing a DHA and/or related customers portfolio of services and solutions and creating/shaping/winning high PWin contract opportunities
  • 12 or more years’ experience shaping and winning technical opportunities (IT & Mission Solutions projects, captures)
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills working with technical leaders and business executives within Peraton, with DHA and/or related customers, and with teammates and subcontractors
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance

Desired Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance
  • Profit/loss experience in leading complex IT and Mission Solutions contracts
  • Experience winning DHA and/or related work
  • Bachelors/Masters degree
SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
