About The Role

Mission Domain Expert (MDX) – DIA Intelligence Analysis & Global IntegrationPer

Peraton is seeking a highly accomplished and cleared Mission Domain Expert (MDX) to serve as a senior customer-facing intelligence authority supporting strategic growth initiatives within the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and the broader Defense Intelligence Enterprise.

 

This full-time position is based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and requires regular on-site engagement at DIA Headquarters located at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling and other DIA facilities throughout the National Capital Region.

The Mission Domain Expert is a recognized leader with deep expertise across intelligence analysis, global integration, organizational leadership, workforce modernization, and defense intelligence operations. This individual brings extensive institutional knowledge, established executive-level relationships, and a strong understanding of DIA mission priorities, analytic tradecraft, and enterprise operations.

 

In this role, the MDX will partner closely with Peraton growth, capture, and solution teams to shape strategic opportunities, inform technical solutions, and strengthen customer engagement efforts across DIA and related intelligence community missions.

 

This position is designed as a strategic pre-award and customer engagement role, with the opportunity to transition into a senior program leadership position upon contract award, including Program Manager, Deputy Program Manager, or Senior Intelligence Advisor responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Engage directly with DIA program offices, directorates, and mission partners to understand evolving mission requirements, acquisition priorities, and operational challenges.
  • Serve as a senior mission and intelligence advisor to Peraton leadership across pursuits involving intelligence analysis, global integration, workforce modernization, and enterprise mission support.
  • Provide strategic insight into DIA organizational structure, analytic operations, mission culture, and decision-making processes to support capture strategy and solution development.
  • Advise capture managers, proposal teams, and technical leadership on customer priorities, competitive positioning, and mission-aligned technical approaches for major DIA opportunities, including analytic support and enterprise integration programs.
  • Support development of innovative solutions leveraging AI/ML, advanced analytics, data modernization, and workforce transformation capabilities aligned to DIA mission objectives.
  • Contribute to bid/no-bid assessments, pursuit strategy, teaming evaluations, and probability of win (Pwin) analysis for DIA-focused opportunities.
  • Represent Peraton at DIA industry engagements, intelligence community forums, customer meetings, and mission-focused conferences.
  • Provide subject matter expertise regarding DIA’s integration with the broader Defense Intelligence Enterprise, combatant commands, Joint Intelligence Operations Centers (JIOCs), national intelligence organizations, and interagency mission partners.
  • Collaborate with Peraton technical teams and solution architects to align emerging technologies and mission capabilities with customer operational needs.
  • Upon contract award, transition into a senior mission leadership role providing continuity of customer engagement, operational expertise, and strategic program execution support.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 22+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 20+ years of experience in Intelligence Studies, National Security, International Relations, Political Science, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive career experience supporting or serving within the Defense Intelligence Agency across multiple mission areas, directorates, or operational domains.
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas:
    • All-source intelligence analysis and production
    • Defense intelligence assessments and executive intelligence support
    • Global intelligence integration and mission management
    • Intelligence workforce development and analytic tradecraft
    • Legislative affairs and congressional engagement
    • Enterprise intelligence operations and strategic planning
  • Deep understanding of DIA mission operations, organizational structure, analytic processes, and the Agency’s role within the Intelligence Community and Defense Intelligence Enterprise.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain trusted relationships with senior government leadership, mission stakeholders, and executive-level partners.
  • Experience supporting strategic growth, customer engagement, acquisition shaping, or pre-RFP mission discussions within the federal or intelligence community environment.
  • Experience contributing to large-scale government proposals, technical solution development, or capture efforts supporting Intelligence Community customers.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and executive briefing skills.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph required.

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior Senior Executive Service (SES) or equivalent senior leadership experience within DIA or the Intelligence Community.
  • Experience overseeing large organizations, enterprise operations, or mission portfolios supporting national security objectives.
  • Expertise supporting high-priority intelligence missions involving near-peer strategic competition, global threat analysis, or defense intelligence operations.
  • Experience leading organizational transformation, workforce modernization, or enterprise mission initiatives.
  • Familiarity with DIA modernization priorities, including AI/ML integration, data architecture transformation, advanced analytics, and enterprise IT modernization.
  • Experience supporting intelligence workforce professionalization, analytic modernization initiatives, or talent development programs.
  • Background supporting congressional engagements, legislative affairs, or senior executive communications.
  • International intelligence partnership or multinational mission experience.
  • Understanding of DIA contracted analytic support environments and enterprise integration models.
  • Existing relationships across DIA leadership, mission organizations, acquisition offices, and operational stakeholders.
  • PMP certification, DAU certification, or equivalent program management credentials preferred.
  • Experience briefing senior leaders across the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, Congress, Combatant Commands, or the National Security Council.

Target Salary Range: $176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
