About The Role

The Peraton Health, State and Local Sector is seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst. The ideal candidate will be a critical link between our business operations and IT departments, helping to define and implement technology solutions that improve efficiency and achieve strategic goals. This role involves analyzing business processes, gathering and documenting requirements, and working with stakeholders to ensure our systems meet their needs. 

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented problem solver who excels at documentation, collaboration, and driving continuous improvement in system workflows. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Requirements Gathering & Documentation: Collaborate directly with stakeholders to analyze business processes, identify needs, and translate them into functional and technical specifications. Create clear user stories, use cases, and process flow diagrams. 
  • Process Analysis: Conduct gap analyses to identify system inefficiencies and propose practical solutions for process improvements. 
  • Technical Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact between business users and the technical development team, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals. 
  • Quality Assurance Support: Assist in testing new systems, features, and updates to verify they meet defined requirements before deployment. 
  • Training & Support: Provide end-user support and documentation/training materials to ensure smooth system adoption. 
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications 

  • Requires 2+ years of experience with BS/BA, or a High School diploma with years of experience.  
  • Experience: Proven professional experience working as a Business Systems Analyst or in a closely related software development/systems analysis role. 
  • Testing & QA: Experience assisting with system testing, validating new features, or collaborating with teams to ensure deliverables meet defined functional requirements. 
  • Methodologies: Solid understanding of software development lifecycles, with experience working in Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall environments. 
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to collect, organize, and analyze complex information and system workflows with high attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and vice versa. 
  • Problem Solving: A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a track record of identifying system challenges and driving them to resolution. 
  • Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Public Trust. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Tooling: Direct hands-on experience using requirements gathering, tracking, and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence. 
  • Technical Documentation: Advanced proficiency in creating detailed user stories, technical use cases, and mapping out complex process flow diagrams. 
  • Experience with Medicare Part A, Medicare Part B, DME or Medicare Common Working File (CWF) specific processing systems preferred. 

 

Details

Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
