About The Role

Cyber Systems Engineer – Cyber Intelligence

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD
Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph

 

Peraton is seeking a Cyber Systems Engineer to join our high-performing Cyber Intelligence team in Annapolis Junction, MD. In this mission-critical role, you'll play a key part in developing and supporting both the core and deployed infrastructure of Datarunner, a next-generation rules engine powering cyber operations. If you're passionate about impactful engineering and want to work on cutting-edge capabilities that directly support national security missions, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and developers to implement functional enhancements and support rule-writing efforts for the Datarunner engine.

  • Gather, document, and maintain detailed technical requirements for ongoing and future projects.

  • Lead the integration of the Datarunner rules engine into various mission frameworks and external partner systems.

  • Act as the primary technical liaison to external partners, ensuring the successful delivery and operationalization of Datarunner capabilities.

  • Develop and maintain operational infrastructure, procedures, and supporting documentation to ensure system reliability and scalability.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required
  • Seventeen (17) years of experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required
  • Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree

Highly Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Mission Systems

  • Proficiency in DataRunner

  • Skilled in transferring and decommissioning legacy systems to new platforms

  • Familiar with mission data formats

  • Capable of reviewing, processing, or creating Dataflow Management Requests (DMRs)

  • Able to develop software deployment and management solutions in distributed architectures

  • Experience in customer outreach and external support

  • Knowledge of Apache NiFi, including building and managing DataFlows

  • Strong background in analyzing and managing analytical requirements

  • Proficient in creating Systems Architecture Diagrams to illustrate software and system functions

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently

Details

Target Salary Range: $176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
