Peraton is seeking a System Engineer / Hardware Engineer to help shape, design, and evaluate the next generation of systems supporting critical networking initiatives. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work across the full engineering lifecycle—planning, researching, architecting, integrating, and validating systems—while partnering closely with Network Architects, Systems Engineers, Network Engineers, and Server Administrators.
You’ll play a key role in translating technical requirements into actionable designs and documentation, ensuring solutions are resilient, scalable, and built to last. Your work will directly influence how infrastructure is deployed, maintained, and modernized across the enterprise.
What You’ll Do:
Lead and support technical planning, system design, integration, verification, cost/risk assessments, and full lifecycle system analyses.
Research emerging technologies, gather and evaluate technical specifications, and track component End of Sale / End of Support / End of Life timelines.
Collaborate with vendors—requesting, reviewing, and validating quotes, technical specs, and build documentation.
Create, maintain, and manage detailed technical documents including network diagrams, design drawings, rack elevations, cable run lists, build guides, and floor placement layouts.
Develop power, space, and cooling requirements; generate procurement and integration plans.
Provide redlines and feedback on drawing packages, ensuring accuracy and alignment with engineering standards.
Build and validate Cable BOMs for manufacturers and vendors, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
