About The Role

Peraton is currently seeking a skilled Data Center Engineer in the Annapolis Junction, MD area. This is a dynamic role where you will be responsible for systems engineering support, integration, test, and deployment activities for the Engineering team. Responsibilities include:

  • Engineer, install, maintain, configure and optimize Microsoft server operating systems.
  • Manage virtualized environments.
  • Provision and manage virtual machines.
  • Manage and configure VDI environments.
  • Configure and maintain network services such as DNS and DHCP
  • Knowledge in creating, administering, and troubleshooting Group Policies (GPOs).
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
  • Work with internal and external IT teams to coordinate changes, implementations, and maintenances for network and security configurations
  • Support the administration of Microsoft SQL databases.
  • Develop and implement security measures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other cyber threats
  • Complete Automation system patching
  • Apply STIGs to IT systems and document results.
  • Review STIG checklists developed by others for accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop RMF security policy and procedures documents.
Qualifications

Requirements

  • BS 8-10 Years, MS 6, PhD 3; 4 years of additional work experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
  • Must have a Top Secret with SCI eligibility
  • Must have a current DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level III certification (i.e CASP)
  • Experience with Microsoft OSes and software, VMware technology suite, and Linux
  • Experience developing schedules, and engineering plans
  • Experience with VMware datacenter solutions for enclaves, multitenancy, high availability and disaster recovery
  • Experience in Infrastructure/Datacenter engineering and integration for both physical and virtual infrastructure hosting one or more Operating Systems: Windows, Linux, Solaris, UNIX, and/or AIX systems
  • Experience with DevOps, automation, and scripting

Desired:

  • Professional-level Linux, VMware, Network, Storage, or Cloud certifications 
  • Experience with  ITIL v3 to ITIL v4 transition and practices
  • Experience with RMF and DODAF 2.0 documentation standards and Change Management

 

Details

Target Salary Range: $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
