Program Overview
Life cycle support, from design to implementation, in support of the IRS Information Returns Submission Processing System. SW developers, configuration managers, and systems engineers utilize the InFlowSuite™ framework, a commercial-off-the-shelf product developed and maintained by Peraton, to streamline and manage submission processing.
About The Role

Peraton is seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) – MongoDB & Oracle to provide database expertise and technical guidance to a development team supporting enterprise applications. This individual will lead database design, performance tuning, optimization, and data modeling efforts while providing hands-on expertise with MongoDB, Oracle, Databricks, and relational database technologies.

 

What You Will Do: 

  • Serve as the Database SME, providing technical expertise and guidance to development and technical teams.
  • Lead database design, data modeling, performance tuning, optimization, implementation, and operational support.
  • Design, implement, and support MongoDB and relational database environments, including Oracle.
  • Design, implement, and support large-scale databases exceeding 5TB, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Troubleshoot complex database issues and identify opportunities for performance and operational improvements.
  • Support Databricks and enterprise-level data solutions.
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, and technical teams to develop and maintain scalable, high-performing database solutions.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain the required Public Trust level clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 8 years of experience or HS diploma or equivalent and 12 years of experience.
  • 8+ years of demonstrated database experience.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with MongoDB and/or relational database technologies, including Oracle.
  • Strong experience with database design, performance tuning, optimization, data modeling, and operational support.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and supporting large-scale databases greater than 5TB.
  • Experience maintaining and optimizing enterprise database environments to ensure performance, scalability, reliability, and availability.
  • Ability to provide technical expertise and guidance on database architecture, design, implementation, and operational support.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Databricks.
  • Databricks foundational/basic certification desired.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification desired.
  • Experience supporting highly scalable, enterprise-level database environments.
Details

Target Salary Range: $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
