About The Role

We are seeking an Expert Systems Engineer to lead and support complex, multi-disciplinary engineering initiatives across the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System for Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and partner Federal Agencies. In this role, you will help ensure the timely and accurate delivery of critical GEOINT capabilities by driving engineering excellence in areas such as requirements definition, solutions architecture, integration, testing, and standards development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical Point of Contact (POC) for the NSGPDD and Radar Standards.

  • Lead engineering efforts including requirements analysis, systems integration, testing, reliability, resiliency, and maintainability.

  • Analyze and resolve data format, data quality, and specification-related Discrepancy Reports (DRs).

  • Draft and implement updates/redlines to the NSGPDD and related Radar Standards documentation.

  • Ensure alignment of standards and technical products with evolving mission and system requirements.

  • Manage and execute the Request for Change (RFC) process across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Lead effectivity management to support successful implementation of engineering changes.

  • Provide expert technical input on interface standards, data specifications, and data integrity.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align on engineering decisions, milestones, and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Review and validate updates to technical documentation for accuracy and standards compliance.

  • Act as a liaison between engineering teams, product owners, and standards boards to ensure consistent execution of requirements.

  • Oversee and mentor a team of Senior, Mid-, and Junior-level Systems Engineers.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in large-scale systems engineering, ideally within NSG, ASG, or Federal intelligence environments.

  • Strong background in technical documentation, engineering standards, and configuration management.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence key engineering decisions.

  • Experience with data formats, DR resolution, and change management processes.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Qualifications

Peraton offers enhanced benefits to employees working on this critical National Security program, which include heavily subsidized employee benefits coverage for you and your dependents, 25 days of PTO accrued annually up to a generous PTO cap and eligible to participate in an attractive bonus plan.

    • Note: 4 years of additional relevant experience may substitute for a degree; 2 years for a non-STEM degree.

  • Active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain SCI and pass a polygraph.

Professional Experience

  • 18+ years of relevant experience in government or industry, including:

    • DoD/IC Acquisition, Requirements, or PPBES processes.

    • Systems engineering for large, complex System-of-Systems or Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) environments across cloud, on-premise, or hybrid infrastructures.

  • Prior experience supporting NGA, NSG/ASG, NRO, or other IC/DoD programs or projects.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong foundation in systems or radar engineering, with:

    • Experience in standards development and product specification management.

    • Familiarity with NSGPDD, radar systems, and associated technical standards (preferred).

  • Hands-on experience investigating and resolving data format, data quality, and specification-related Discrepancy Reports (DRs).

  • Ability to draft technical documentation and implement redlines/updates to standards.
