The Expert Systems Engineer will lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams in delivering complex solutions across the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System for Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and Federal Agencies. This role ensures the timely, accurate, and reliable delivery of GEOINT capabilities through excellence in systems engineering, integration, and lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support the Government in all aspects of systems engineering, including requirements definition, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, testing, evaluation, maintainability, and analysis.
Plan and manage the analysis and traceability of user requirements, architectures, and procedures to improve or automate existing systems.
Evaluate and recommend improvements to cloud service capabilities, workflows, and scheduling processes.
Advise on and assess design changes driven by evolving requirements or emerging technologies.
Capture and translate mission and customer needs into system-level requirements and engineering solutions.
Support the allocation of requirements to system architecture components and program execution.
Conduct systems integration across multiple acquisition programs.
Lead and contribute to Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (CoAs), trade studies, and engineering assessments.
Support strategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management, and interface design.
Provide expert-level guidance connecting vision, strategy, plans, needs, and capability development across the enterprise.
Operate at a national level, integrating multiple Major Systems Acquisitions across organizational, agency, departmental, and governmental boundaries.
Oversee and coordinate the efforts of Senior-, Mid-, and Junior-level Systems Engineers.

Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related technical or scientific field (e.g., Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or other STEM disciplines).
Equivalent experience may substitute for education:
+4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree, or
+2 years of relevant experience with a non-STEM degree.

18+ years of experience in government or industry in one or more of the following areas:
DoD/IC Acquisition Process
Requirements Process
PPBES Process
Systems engineering of large, complex System-of-Systems or Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) environments within cloud, on-premise, or hybrid infrastructures.
18+ years of experience and a strong understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle.
Demonstrated knowledge of the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System for Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) enterprises.
Previous NGA and/or NSG/ASG program or project experience.
Prior Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of Defense (DoD) program/project experience.
Clearance
Active TS/SCI clearance or the ability to obtain SCI access and successfully pass a polygraph.
Education & Certification
Master’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related technical/scientific field (as listed above).
INCOSE Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) certification.
Software Development Framework certification.
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
Technical Expertise
Working knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes, tools, and languages.
Extensive experience engineering solutions using:

Automation, Augmentation, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies
