Program Overview
About The Role

Peraton is seeking a Senior Graphic Designer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Herndon, VA . The qualified applicant will become part of Peraton's Department of State (DOS) Consular Systems Modernization (CSM) Program, for the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA). This initiative will modernize and consolidate the operational environment under a common technology framework to better support the services provided to CA’s customers. 

 

This position requires an understanding of WordPress and CSS/HTML coding to maintain and update existing assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in graphic design with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics. This role requires the ability to create visually compelling designs that effectively communicate organizational changes and support user adoption. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design visual imagery in alignment with DoS branding specifications.
  • Develop content, infographics and design concepts to update program websites, and communication materials.
  • Continuously improve the innovative media and create engaging materials to keep the program website current and active.
  • Design and develop communication and marketing materials including posters, one-pagers, brochures, presentations.
  • Confer with client/project manager for project details regarding background information, project parameters and objectives, presentation approaches, styles, techniques, and other graphics related production factors.
  • Consult and brainstorm with staff to develop innovative ideas, concepts, solutions, and materials for print, web, and interactive media.
  • Transform stakeholder ideas into engaging visuals, products, and graphics to fully communicate campaigns and projects while adhering to brand guidelines and ensuring proper messaging is being executed in all products (web and print).
  • Develop creative and unique content in print and electronic media using color, type, illustration, photography, animation, and various print and layout techniques.
  • Enhance the user's website experience with media and/or graphic elements. Improve existing web pages and create new web pages content to communicate the customer's messages and themes.
  • Create and oversee preparation of illustrative materials, including iconography, infographics, drawings, and diagrams.
  • Prepares, designs and publishes documents and media that are distributed to a large government, national and international user-base.
  • Manage multiple projects daily. Ensure project deadlines are met, manage expectations, and provide quality assurance.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years’ experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years knowledge of the Adobe suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and InDesign).
  • Demonstrated competencies in preparing, publication and producing dissemination for leadership, management, and diverse user groups.
  • Must be able to obtain or have an active Secret (or higher) clearance.  Interim clearance acceptable.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience preparing, producing and supporting a cybersecurity product line.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing UI/UX design principles a plus.

Details

Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
