Join Peraton in advancing the safety, efficiency, and modernization of the National Airspace System (NAS) through the FAA’s Business, National Airspace, and Technical Computing Services (BNATCS) contract. As a trusted partner to the Federal Aviation Administration, Peraton helps deliver the systems and services that keep our nation’s skies safe and connected. We’re looking for innovative professionals who thrive in mission-critical environments and are passionate about shaping the future of air traffic management. This is your chance to make an impact on one of the world’s most vital transportation infrastructures, working alongside leaders in aviation, engineering, data science, and systems integration.
At Peraton, you won’t just support the mission — you’ll define it.
Join a team dedicated to protecting the safety and integrity of U.S. air travel. Peraton is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support infrastructure design, configuration planning, documentation, and technical oversight of subcontracted deployments to ensure solutions meet performance, availability, and resiliency requirements. This role is central to building and maintaining robust systems that power mission-critical operations and modernization initiatives. Whether you’re supporting safety validation efforts or leading teams on major FAA programs, your work will directly impact the millions of passengers and aviation professionals who rely on safe, efficient airspace operations every day.
In this position, you will:
Support design and planning of infrastructure systems, ensuring alignment with performance and availability goals.
Develop and maintain configuration documentation, technical diagrams, and deployment procedures.
Provide technical oversight of subcontractor deployments, ensuring solutions adhere to defined standards and requirements.
Participate in capacity planning and system optimization efforts to enhance infrastructure resiliency.
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to integrate infrastructure solutions into modernization programs.
Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for infrastructure-related issues.
Monitor and evaluate system performance, recommending improvements for scalability and reliability.
Ensure compliance with security, operational, and regulatory standards.
Why This Role Matters
As aviation and federal programs evolve, any weakness in underlying infrastructure can impact operations and service delivery on a national scale. The Infrastructure Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring these foundations are strong, scalable, and secure.
Basic Qualifications:
Proven experience with server, storage, networking, and virtualization technologies.
Strong knowledge of performance, availability, and resiliency best practices.
Experience managing technical documentation and coordinating deployments with subcontractors or external vendors.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional, fast-paced environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environments.
Certifications such as VMware VCP, Microsoft Azure Administrator, or AWS Solutions Architect.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, or similar).
Background in performance monitoring, disaster recovery planning, or high-availability architectures.
