Leading provider of Information Operations (IO) and Irregular Warfare (IW) capabilities to the U.S. government. Integrates Information Related Capabilities (IRC) across multiple domains, environments, and geographic boundaries, supporting both domestic and overseas operation via Information Operations planners, intelligence analysts, cultural advisors, and linguists
About The Role

Peraton is seeking an Iraqi Arabic Linguist and Cultural Advisor (CULAD) to perform duties in Kuwait for CJTF-OIR. The Iraqi Arabic Linguist/CULAD will provide continuous monitoring, expert analysis, and assessment of global, regional, and tailored area geopolitical media and news sources.

 

This position is a deployed unaccompanied one-year assignment to Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.

 

NOTE: The position will entail work on Camp Arifjan, however the individual will reside in corporate-provided housing on-the-economy, off-base. Transportation to and from base also provided.

 

What You’ll Do::

 

  • Gather information on trends, behaviors, events and directed global developments to generate media synopsis reports and assessments of local geopolitics and foreign media discourse
  • Produce predictive recommendations and identify anticipated strategic communications opportunities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop marketing and support communications plans
  • Monitor industry and technology trends in traditional, digital, social, mobile media
  • Use directed, or design research methods appropriate to pre-defined client criteria
  • Interpret and analyze oral and written source material such as classified reports, data, briefings and conversations.
  • Provide cultural expertise in written or oral form
  • Analyze data for coded patterns of information
  • Interpret data for information for a range of deductions encompassing breadth of subjects

Qualifications

Required:

 

  • Must possess a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience or a Master's Degree and 6 years of experience.
    • May consider 10 years of relevant experience with Associates degree or 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree
  • 6 years of experience as a researcher monitoring media and providing analysis of trends, political events, and geopolitical impacts
  • Ability to provide high quality presentations and work with small and large groups
  • Have an in depth understanding of the cultural differences, nuances, customs, symbolism, mannerisms, and traditions of the various ethnic groups residing throughout the Middle East
  • Excellent oral, written and electronic communication in English
  • Demonstrated capability to work with Microsoft Office applications, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have an Active DoD TS with SCI eligibility
  • Must possess a U.S. Passport with at least two years minimum left on expiration.
  • Must be fully eligible for Kuwait work visa/civil ID

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4/4/4 testing scores in English and 5/5/5 in Iraqi Arabic
  • Recent Native Cultural Experience
  • Experience with Information Operations
  • Experience as a media monitor/researcher for the DoD

Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
