Peraton is currently seeking a LAN Network Administrator
The LAN Network Administrator supports enterprise operations by analyzing, maintaining, and administering Local Area Network infrastructure to ensure reliable connectivity, efficient performance, and secure operation across user and system environments. This role works in a dynamic setting to evaluate hardware and software, resolve LAN issues, implement configuration changes, and maintain compliance and documentation standards for mission‑critical network assets.
Key responsibilities listed below:
• Manages and maintains LAN architectures, including switching, routing, cabling, and communications hardware.
• Researches, tests, and evaluates LAN hardware/software to recommend reliable and compatible solutions.
• Analyzes LAN traffic and utilization trends to ensure efficient performance and capacity planning.
• Interfaces with users, technical teams, and vendors to determine hardware needs, installation requirements, and upgrade paths.
• Supports LAN infrastructure across the organization, resolving local connectivity and communication issues.
• Identifies and recommends LAN equipment upgrades including switches, cabling, patch panels, and physical connectivity components.
• Performs and oversees physical cable runs including routing, labeling, termination, and testing of copper and fiber connections.
• Tests and evaluates LAN systems for efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing environments.
• Develops LAN installation and troubleshooting procedures for hardware, software, and physical infrastructure.
• Maintains LAN documentation including diagrams, port‑density lists, cabling maps, and configuration baselines.
• Performs STIG/IAVA compliance and routine diagnostics while executing supervised configuration changes on LAN devices.
