About The Role
Peraton and its Operational Planning, Implementation and Assessment Services Team is seeking an experienced MILDEC Planner to conduct MILDEC planning and execution at a Combatant Command (CCMD) level, and to ensure the command group and staff consider deception in the decision-making process.
Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado.
What You’ll Do:
- Plan, develop, and integrate MILDEC into campaign plans, OPLANS, and in crisis to ensure that MILDEC capabilities are considered in the deliberate and crisis action planning processes.
- Conduct daily research on individual targets and their conduit channels.
- Plan MILDEC executions, staff their approval, and coordinate required resources.
- Brief the source documents, logical reasoning, psychological tactics, and observables that will lead targets to a decision.
- Be creative in using information systems and information related capabilities (IRC); integrate with interagency and intelligence community (IC); develop physical, technical, and administrative observables for conduits and targets.
- Assess the effectiveness of MILDEC executions.
- Coordinate planning with deception working groups to deconflict targeting.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience; or master’s degree and minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree will be considered.
- MISO/PSYOP (37A/37F) MOS, FA30, or sister-service equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with PSYOP/OIE planning and execution supporting Combatant Commands, service component commands, SMUs, or Task Forces.
- Certified in Military Deception planning through 1st IO Command, SOF MILDEC course, Joint MILDEC Course, or similar.
- At least one year of real-world operational experience as a MILDEC planner.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Current U.S. Passport.
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of joint and Army service doctrine on MILDEC, PSYOP, and OIE.
- Knowledge of joint operational planning process, military decision-making process, and CONOP development.
- Familiarity with the intelligence cycle, HOT-R, IIRs, SIGINT capabilities, OSINT and similar assets.
- Own at least five books on military deception in your personal library.
- Regularly read peer-reviewed journal articles, relevant non-fiction, or other related works.
- Ability to conduct basic research on a given topic, collect sources, evaluate their reliability, synthesize their facts and conclusions, and draw an overall conclusion.
- Demonstrated ability to apply logic and critical thinking to a problem.
- Able to operate in ambiguous environments with little guidance and feedback.
- Ability to work effectively with a small planning cell in enclosed spaces.
- Consistently appear uninteresting and not particularly important outside SCIF environments (e.g. the “gray man” who does “mostly administrative work”).

Details
Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
