Program Overview
Supports the transformation and modernization of legacy Coast Guard systems and services including mobility, messaging, ITSM, ITAM, Network Infrastructure, and legacy data systems from on premise implementations to cloud and hybrid cloud solutions. New system and service implementations, including zero trust architecture, to provide leading edge systems that are both secure and accessible.
About The Role

Network Administrator
Peraton – Kearneysville, WV 

As part of Peraton’s Infrastructure Managed Service (IMS) Program supporting the U.S. Coast Guard, the Network Administrator plays a key role in modernizing and maintaining network infrastructure. This position involves engineering guidance, operational support, and security enforcement across a diverse technical environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

    • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot network performance in a 24/7/365 Network Operations Center (NOC).

    • Support network availability and resolve performance issues to ensure consistent service delivery.

    • Contribute to system design and documentation, translating strategic goals into technical requirements.

    • Define, implement, and enforce network policies, standards, and security protocols.

    • Maintain and update system security plans across platforms.

    • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on network design, testing, and implementation.

    • Respond to network outages, including potential second and third shift or overtime work when necessary.

Qualifications

 

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or High School Diploma with 4+ years of relevant experience)

  • Proven experience supporting large-scale data center environments

  • Skilled in WAN/LAN troubleshooting and network configuration

  • Familiar with VPNs and network protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF)

  • Proficient in using firewalls and analyzing packet captures

  • Quick to learn new networking tools and technologies

  • U.S. Citizen with ability to maintain a Secret clearance

  • Willing and able to obtain CompTIA Security+ certification upon hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with enterprise infrastructure modernization

  • Engineering experience in agile environments

  • Networking certifications (e.g., CCNA, Network+)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Details

Target Salary Range: $51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
