Peraton is seeking a Portal Developer. In this role, you will design and implement dynamic, secure, and data-driven web solutions that connect people, information, and systems across the FAA enterprise. Your work will empower air traffic controllers, engineers, and decision-makers with intuitive access to the digital tools that keep our skies safe.
Design, develop, and deploy custom web applications and components that enhance information sharing and collaboration across FAA programs.
Build responsive, user-friendly web interfaces to new and existing databases using technologies such as HTML, CSS, SQL, JavaScript, C#, VB, Java, or ColdFusion.
Develop database-driven web portals that provide real-time access to FAA systems and operational data.
Implement user-driven templates, dashboards, and data input forms that simplify access to complex systems.
Collaborate with systems engineers, UI/UX designers, and cybersecurity specialists to ensure portal reliability, usability, and compliance with FAA standards.
Integrate web applications with enterprise systems, APIs, and reporting tools for seamless data exchange.
Support full software development lifecycle (SDLC) activities — from requirements analysis and design to testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Create and maintain technical documentation, design artifacts, and change logs.
Troubleshoot performance and compatibility issues, ensuring optimal functionality across browsers and platforms.
Contribute to innovation by evaluating emerging web technologies and recommending improvements to FAA digital infrastructure.
Required Qualifications:
Proficiency with modern web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, SQL) and at least one programming language such as Java, C#, VB, or ColdFusion.
Experience developing database-driven web applications and integrating them with enterprise systems.
Strong understanding of responsive design, web accessibility, and security best practices.
Knowledge of web servers, middleware, and server-side scripting.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, agile environment with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting FAA, DOT, or other federal transportation or safety-critical systems.
Familiarity with cloud-based development environments, DevSecOps pipelines, and containerized web applications.
Experience with data visualization tools or analytics dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
Understanding of Section 508 compliance and federal web security requirements.
Exposure to aviation systems or mission-critical enterprise applications.
