About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Power Platforms Architect to join our team in the greater DMV area, supporting the Army National Guard.

 

Responsibilities

  • Architect and govern enterprise Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse) to ensure scalability, security, and compliance.
  • Define platform architecture, environment strategy, data models, integration patterns, connectors, and ALM/DevOps processes aligned with mission requirements.
  • Establish standards for solution design, reusability, security controls, DLP/data policies, and role‑based access to enforce governance across environments.
  • Guide adoption of model‑driven and canvas apps, orchestrated workflows, citizen‑developer enablement, and automation to streamline business processes.
  • Oversee integrations with Microsoft 365, Azure services, and external systems to deliver cohesive, cloud‑native capabilities and secure data flows.
  • Implement environment segmentation, monitoring, performance management, and runbooks to maintain platform reliability and incident response readiness.
  • Lead COE practices: evaluate emerging capabilities, develop reusable components, and drive continuous improvement and modernization initiatives.
  • Produce solution architectures, technical specifications, PoCs, performance tuning recommendations, and decision‑grade briefing materials for leadership.
  • Provide architectural oversight for lifecycle management, release processes, testing, and production deployment of mission‑critical Power Platform solutions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD
  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance.

  • Candidate must meet ONE of the following:

    • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; OR
    • Relevant DoD/military training (example: SANS SEC545 (Cloud Security Architecture)); OR
    • Relevant professional certification or equivalent experience (examples: Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert; Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert; AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional; CISSP‑ISSAP).
  • Required experience and skills:

    • Enterprise IT, application, or cloud architecture experience with at least 3 years designing and delivering Power Platform/low‑code solutions or equivalent cloud application platforms.
    • Deep expertise in Power Platform components (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse), connectors, Dataverse modeling, and integration patterns with Azure and Microsoft 365.
    • Proven ability to define governance, environment strategy, DLP policies, RBAC, ALM/CI‑CD pipelines, and operational monitoring for enterprise Power Platform deployments.
    • Strong skills in data modeling, security architecture, performance tuning, scalability planning, and producing decision‑grade architecture artifacts and roadmaps.
    • Experience leading COE activities, mentoring developers, and institutionalizing reusable components and best practices.
  • Desired:

    • Prior DoD/enterprise Power Platform governance experience and familiarity with RMF/ATO evidence needs.
    • Experience with Power Platform ALM, solution packaging, PCF components, Power Platform APIs, and advanced integration (Azure Functions, Logic Apps).
    • Preferred certifications: Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert; Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert; or equivalent cloud/architecture credentials.

Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
