About The Role

The Hybrid Architecture and Development for Experimental Systems (HADES) program is an exciting and cutting-edge initiative led by the U.S. Space Force, offering a unique opportunity to work on the forefront of space operations and technology. HADES focuses on the development, integration, and sustainment of prototype and operational satellite ground systems, satellite operations centers (SOCs), and critical support services. This program plays a vital role in supporting the Research and Development Space and Missile Operations (RDSMO) Ground System Enterprise (GSE) and is headquartered at the Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) Support Complex (RSC) at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

 

As the Program Security Officer, you’ll support security operations across multiple efforts with varying security requirements, including SCI, SAP, and CAP environments. You will perform and coordinate security activities, interpret and implement security policies, and interface with Government representatives and program personnel to support mission execution. This role supports compliance, personnel security, and physical security activities within a high-tempo, mission-critical environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform and coordinate security activities for SCI/SAP/CAP contracts and business development activities.
  • Interpret, develop, and implement SCI and SAP security policies.
  • Interface daily with contract performers and Government Representatives.
  • Develop and conduct security-related briefings and training required by Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs) and for specific Government Customers.
  • Assist in preparation for and participate in Government compliance inspections;
  • Assist other Peraton locations in self-assessments and preparation for inspections.
  • Coordinate visitor management, meeting support, and VAR submissions.
  • Carry out personnel security functions including reciprocity requests, initial cases, periodic reinvestigations, indoctrinations, polygraph requests, and debriefings in accordance with varied IC Customer requirements.
  • Process, track and prioritize PAR packages in coordination with program management and our mission partners.
  • Assist in incident investigations and prepare reports as directed by the customer.
  • Update databases, intelligence files and other required documents. Support COMSEC accountability and inspections.
Qualifications

Required Experience

  • BS/BA degree and 8+ years of equivalent security experience or 6+ years of experience with a Masters Degree, to include 1-3+ years of security administration and work experience in the SCI environment.
  • Additional work experience may be considered in lieu of degree. 
  • 3+ years of experience using government security regulations, manuals, and processes, to include Intelligence Community Directives and OPSEC principles.
  • This position requires the candidate possess a minimum of Top-Secret/SCI clearance. The candidate must maintain the clearance.
  • Favorably adjudicated Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph or the willingness to sit for one
  • Self-driven and results oriented, capable of effectively working multiples tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desired Experience

  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite.
  • 5+ years of experience as an FSO and working with the Department of Defense policies and the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) preferred.
  • Knowledge and ability to prepare DD254s.
  • Proficient with DISS, SIMS, Scattered Castles, JADE, and Talon
  • Multi-disciplined security knowledge NISPOM, DCID, and ICDs, DoD Manuals
  • Current DSS Facility Security Officer Certification from CDSE. 
  • Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification

Details

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
