About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Quality Assurance and Test Engineer to join our team in the greater DMV area, supporting the Army National Guard.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for unit, integration, regression, security, performance, and load testing to validate system functionality and stability.
- Perform hands‑on testing: data validation, interface testing, workflow and end‑to‑end scenario execution to verify alignment with requirements, design documents, and user stories.
- Identify, document, and track defects with reproducible steps; perform root‑cause analysis and collaborate with developers/engineers to verify fixes and retest.
- Execute migration, integration, and architecture change verification testing to support modernization and external system interfaces.
- Conduct security control validation and performance baseline assessments in coordination with cybersecurity and engineering teams.
- Produce Test Plans, Test Reports, defect metrics, readiness assessments, and decision‑grade test artifacts for program reviews.
- Maintain test environments, test data, and automated test suites; implement test automation where appropriate to improve coverage and repeatability.
- Coordinate test activities with system engineers, product owners, and operations teams; contribute lessons learned to continuous improvement of test processes.
- Preserve test evidence, logs, and artifacts to support accreditation, compliance, and audit readiness.

Qualifications
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD
Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance.
Candidate must meet ONE of the following:
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field; OR
- Relevant DoD/military training (example: System Testing and Evaluation Specialist (Advanced) Playlist); OR
- Relevant professional certification or equivalent experience (example: CCSP).
Required experience and skills:
- QA/test engineering or systems validation experience with at least 3 years leading/performing complex test efforts in enterprise or DoD environments.
- Hands‑on experience with manual and automated testing tools, test automation frameworks, performance/load testing tools, and test environment management.
- Strong skills in test case design, defect lifecycle management, root‑cause analysis, and producing test reports/metrics for leadership.
- Experience validating security controls, RMF/ATO evidence needs, and coordinating with cybersecurity teams for test validations.
- Proficiency with scripting (Python, PowerShell) for test automation, data generation, and result processing; familiarity with CI/CD test integration.
Desired:
- Prior DoD/ARNG test or validation experience supporting accredited systems and migration/modernization programs.
- Experience with test automation at scale, test data management, and tools such as Selenium, JMeter, LoadRunner, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with test management tools (Jira/Zephyr, TestRail), and integration of testing into ALM/DevSecOps pipelines.

Details
Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
