Program Overview
About The Role

Peraton is seeking an experienced SAP HANA Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Herndon, VA. The qualified applicant will become part of Peraton's Department of State (DOS) Consular Systems Modernization (CSM) Program, for the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA). This initiative will modernize over 90 legacy systems over the period of 10 years and consolidate the operational environment under a common technology framework in order to better support the services provided to CA’s customers. As part of the modernization program, the SAP HANA Engineer will ensure the secure and efficient operation of SAP HANA by overseeing a range of critical tasks and responsibilities.

 

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct 60-day password maintenance for HANA service accounts to uphold security protocols.
  • Daily monitoring of HANA Health to proactively identify and address potential issues.
  • Supervise and monitor replication from ESOCW to MDC to ensure data integrity and continuity.
  • Execute regular database backups to safeguard against data loss and ensure business continuity.
  • Provide end-user support for HANA related queried and issues.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams for HANA Hardware support, as needed.
  • Manage user accounts and ensure robust security measures are in place.
  • Deploy HANA Database patches and SUSE Linux OS patches in the production environment.
  • Support and coordinate Production Deployments to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • Review and triage ServiceNow tickets for HANA issues.
  • Monitor ETL loads to ensure data integration processes are functioning.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years’ experience.
  • Proficient in Linux System administration for HANA servers to maintain a stable operating environment.
  • Experienced in database administration for SAP HANA servers to ensure optimal performance.
  • Experience articulating Firewall requests.
  • Familiarity with Change Control, Release Management, Configuration Management processes.
  • Experience troubleshooting Production and Non-Production environment issues related to Business Objects and Data Services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to remediate any Security findings.
  • Actively participate in designing Technical Solution and provide support for its implementation.
  • Must be able to obtain or have an active Secret (or higher) clearance. Interim clearances are acceptable.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Business Object Administration.
  • Experience with Agile and KANBAN methodology.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, JIRA.

Details

Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
